“A Romanian Diary #HereWeDreamOfChange” at Masca Theatre was born out of a deep need to document and give voice to collective concerns.
Often, theatre functions as a mirror of society, but in the case of this show, we wanted it to be a megaphone as well.
In a world where change is whispered, I wanted this project to be a clear and assertive voice.
Romania is a country that dreams, but this dream is often covered by frustration, the lack of real dialogue, and a constant feeling of helplessness.
This show is about those people who have not given up on the dream. They are the engine of change.
Beyond being entertainment or pure art, theatre has enormous political power. It asks questions, provokes, and can awaken the collective conscience.
I strongly believe that theatre, when done with authenticity and courage, can change perspectives and provoke inner revolutions.
In “Journal of Romania #HereWeDreamOfChange” at Masca Theatre, we talk about dreaming, courage, and community.
We worked a lot with real stories and the direct testimonies of the actors.
In “A Romanian Diary #HereWeDreamOfChange” at Masca Theatre, the team of actors is more than just an artistic team. Through them, art becomes an instrument of change.
They talk about the responsibility we have towards those around us.
This team is not afraid to tackle taboo subjects and ask difficult questions, and I am proud that “Journal of Romania” is a platform through which they can be heard.
Creating art means taking a stand, assuming a perspective, and refusing indifference.
I believe our society desperately needs art that speaks directly about current issues.
I do not want the audience to leave just impressed or moved, but inspired to act, to get involved in their community.
If this show manages to move one person, to make them question or take a stand, then our goal has been achieved.
I want theatre to be courage. I want actors and the audience not to fear tackling
difficult subjects. Their dialogue can influence the world because the world always needs new visions.
I believe that theatre, like any form of art, must have a purpose – and my purpose is to leave a better world behind.
